The Lead Up to War

• After World War 1 the German economy and the
  German moral was devastated.
  
• Then a man by the name of Adolph Hitler rose up
  to power and promised better times.

Germany begins Blitzkrieg

• Germany begins by invading the Rhine Land.
• Then they set there sites upon Czechoslovakia.

Germany invades France and Belgium

• France builds the Maginot line to along the
  border with Germany.
  
• To solve this problem the Germans invaded Belgium
  and went around the line.

Germany begins to attack England.

• Germany begins to commit air raids over Great
  Britain.
  
• The small but very experienced Royal Air Force
  held off the German Luftwaffe in the battle of
  Britain.

Germany invades the Soviet Union.

• After Germany had signed a peace treaty with
  Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union.
  
• The Soviets held the Germans in Stalingrad and
  Germany never won another major battle.

D-Day

• June 6, 1944 the invasion of fortress Europe in
  Normandy, France.
  
• The four beaches were code named Utah, Omaha,
  Sword, and Juno.

Hitler Kills Himself

• As the Red Army closed in on Adolph Hitlers
  compound in Berlin, Germany Hitler took a
  cyanide capsule and put a gun in his mouth and
  pulled the trigger.

Germany is Split Into Four.

• After Germany had surrendered and the war was
  over Germany was split into four parts between
  the United States, France, England, and The
  Soviet Union.
