Where Did all of the Trouble Start?

• Treaty was signed June 28, 1919
• This treaty officially ended World War 1
• Germany admitted full responsibility for causing
  the war

Effects on German Military

• Army could only have 100,000 men
• Navy could only have 15,000 men
• They could not train an air force
• They could not have any heavy artilitary
• They could not have any submarines

German Reparations

• Reparations the act of making amends with an
  enemy
• Germany was forced to pay reparations to the
  Allies after their defeat in World War 1.
• The Germans had to pay 26,350,000,000 to all the
  Allies

Territorial Boundaries

• Returned certain German speaking French provinces
  to France
• Demilitarized the Rhineland area between France
  and Germany
• Placed Allied Armies nearby to protect citizens

Why did these things matter?

• Limited Germanys economy
• Took away their national pride
• Made Germany vunerable to attack
• Punished German citizens for the actions of their
  leaders
