Registration
  • Prior to first practice
  • Fill out and sign orientation form
  • Have your son read or read to him and sign the
    code of conduct form
  • Copy of birth certificate (if new to the club)
  • Physicians clearance (within one year of the
    first practice
  • 100 league fee plus sportswear/gear, 50 league
    fee for each additional sibling. Checks made out
    to CYWC.
  • Equipement Ordering by Dan Wrona of Gear Up! Inc.

Gear Swap
  • Selling
  • Write the price, size, and your name (as you want
    it to appear on a check) on a tag
  • Attach the tag to the time
  • Write the same name on an envelope
  • Pick-up your unsold items and envelope
  • Recommend 50 or less of retail for used items
  • Buying
  • Pick out your items
  • Place your check or cash in the corresponding
    envelope
  • Club items are marked CYWC

  • Provide a Safe and Structured environment
  • Provide a positive athletic experience for both
    the wrestlers, parents, and coaches

    Education, and then sports.

Competition Expectations
  • Guidelines
  • First year wrestlers wrestle in practice,
    wrestle in duals is recommended, wrestling in
    tournaments is optional
  • Novice wrestlers (wrestlers having competed in a
    tournament) duals and novice tournaments is
    recommended, league tournament is option
  • Experienced wrestlers as much wrestling as you
    can get!

Other Expectation
  • Practices
  • Be ready to wrestle at the start of practice
  • We will be off the mats at the schedule times
  • Stay out of the weight room area
  • Shower after every practice!
  • Attendance
  • Faith, Family, and Education come first
  • Dont come if youre ill.
  • Discipline isolation/removal from practice,
    removal from the team. Push ups, running, etc
    are not used as forms of punishment.

Attire, Hair, etc
  • Head gear is mandatory during tournaments and
    duals
  • Nails trimmed
  • Hair must be above the collar and lower ear or
    wrestler must wear a hair net
  • No open wounds, sores, or contagious skin
    aliments (ring worm, etc)
  • Wrestlers with braces must wear a mouth guard
  • Wrestling singlet or two-piece uniform for
    tournaments
  • No zippers, buttons, of rough surfaces

Columbine Youth Wrestling 2007/8 Season
  • 6 tournaments ( 2 a month)
  • First tournament is December 2nd _at_ Broomfield
  • Pictures in December, time TBD
  • 4-5 Duals
  • Thursdays prior to HS matches, 5 PM
  • First dual is Dec 6th vs Chatfield (home)
  • League Championship
  • Club will cover cost
  • State Championship
  • Club will fund entrance fee if you place in the
    top 6.

Season runs from November 12th to March 2nd

Novice Clinic Nov 6th and 8th _at_ 630
  • Low key Introduction to the sport
  • Suitable to boys uncertain about
    joining/committing
  • Provides overview of sport
  • 10 fee covers both nights, credited towards club
    fee

Practice Times
  • 5-8 year olds
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 630 to 730
  • 9-14 year olds
  • Mondays and Wednesdays 630 to 800
  • Fridays 600 to 700
  • All
  • Two practices the first week in January, TBD
  • Three practices the week prior to State, TBD

Practices start the week of November 12th

Tournaments
  • Weigh-ins are on Saturday
  • The club is required to volunteer during each
    tournament we attend
  • Tournaments are on Sunday
  • Start times vary between 8-9, 11-14 year olds
    often start later
  • Double elimination
  • Can be long, loud, and hot
  • USAW Bronze card required to be mat side.
