2There are two kinds of whales. They are the
toothed and baleen. The toothed is a whale that
eats meat. The Killer Whale and the Sperm Whale
are toothed. Toothed whales used to be hunted
for Their blubber (fat) and meat. Baleen whales
eats plants and krill. Blue Whales and Humpback
Whales are Baleen. Baleen Whales used to be
hunted for their Blubber, baleen, and oil. Not
only did Whales used to be hunted, they still
are. Please, tell everyone you know, stop
hunting whales.

Blue Whales are not extinct, but they are listed
as endangered by the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
Blue whales were hunted a lot for their Baleen,
blubber, oil, and meat. The world population of
Blue whales Is approximately 7,000-10,000 with
2,000 of these whales found in California.

5Humpback Whales!
Humpback Whales are not extinct, but they are
listed as endangered. There is only about 2,500
Humpback Whales left in the world today. Humpback
Whales are found in both hemispheres, the South
and the North. Humpback Whales have been caught
looking as if they were trying to fly. They jump
out of the water as high as possible and
then Dive back in. PRETTY COOL!
6Killer Whales!
Killer Whales are endangered, but not extinct.
They are actually Only killers in the ocean.
Theyre very friendly and loving to humans. Have
you ever heard of Shamu? Well, if you have, I
want You to know, he is a Killer Whale! Cool,
huh?
7Sperm Whale!
Sperm Whales are endangered. They can weigh 15-20
tons. They are 50-60 feet long. They cannot be in
water more shallow than180 Meters deep. Guess
what? They can dive down more than 3,280 Feet
deep. (1,000 meters.)
8Food Chains!
The sun gives energy to the phytoplankton. The
phytoplankton gives energy to the zooplankton.
The zooplankton gives energy to the baleen Whale.
The sun gives energy to the phytoplankton.n The
phytoplankton gives energy to the zooplankton.
The zooplankton gives energy to the krill. The
krill gives energy to the shark. The shark gives
energy to the Toothed whale.
