Introduction
  • I think the Narwhal is one of the most magical
    creatures in the ocean.
  • It is known as the unicorn whale because it has a
    tooth that grows out in the front of it in a
    spiraled formation.
  • I think it is amazing that a whale as small as
    the Narwhal can be as fascinating as it is! It is
    a truly beautiful sea animal!

  • Mammal
  • Warm blooded
  • Vertebrae
  • 10 to 20 ft long.
  • Male Narwhals weigh 1600kg and females 1000kg.
  • All different colors
  • The spiraled formation is their tusk/tooth.
  • Tooth is 6 to 9 feet long

Food Source
  • Eats shrimp, squid, flatfish, cuttlefish,
    crustaceans
  • Also cod and schooling fish
  • When food is scarce Narwhals will even eat a baby
    seal!
  • They dont use their tusk to hunt.
  • Carnivore

  • Sunlight zone
  • Artic Ocean, Greenland, and Canada.
  • It also lives in the Atlantic and Russian parts
    of the Antarctic.
  • Like very cold temperatures
  • Do not migrate to warmer seas during the winter.

    females by crossing tusks.
  • Males reach maturity at 8-9 years old and females
    at 4-7 years old.
