State of Illinois Insurance Plans

• Central Management Services oversees the
  administration of group health benefits for over
  438,000 enrollees in four programs
• State Employees Group Insurance Program State
  officials and employees of state agencies,
  boards, commissions and universities
• College Insurance Program (CIP) Annuitants
  under the State Universities Retirement System
  (SURS) who prior to retiring, were employees of
  an Illinois community college
• Teachers Retirement Insurance Program (TRIP)
  Annuitants under the Teachers Retirement System
  (TRS) who prior to retiring, were employees of an
  Illinois school district
• Local Government Health Plan (LGHP) Local
  government units entities that have the ability
  to tax or receive moneys from the State of
  Illinois, and entities allowed by statute

State of Illinois Plan Coverage

• Coverage options include HMO, Open Access, or
  Quality Care (self-funded indemnity) plans.
• Hospital Services Inpatient hospitalization,
  outpatient surgery, diagnostic lab and x-ray,
  emergency room hospital services
• Professional and Other Services Physician and
  specialist office visits, durable medical
  equipment, home health care, preventive services,
  skilled nursing facility
• Prescription Drugs Generic, preferred and
  non-preferred brands with varied copayments
• Transplant Services Organ and Tissue
  Transplants
• Behavioral Health Services Psychiatric
  admission, alcohol and substance abuse care,
  counseling
• Dental Diagnostic, preventive and restorative
  services
• Vision Eye exams, eyeglasses, contact lenses

State of Illinois Plan Details

• Active employees make premium contributions based
  on salary and plan selection
• Retirees make no premium contributions, unless
  retirement was on or after 1/1/98, after less
  than 20 years of State service
• Approximately 38 are in the self-funded
  indemnity plan (Quality Care), and 62 are in
  managed health care plans
