- 2 story, 28,000 sq. ft. building blends new
construction and3 historic façades - Customer Service Center provides schedules, route
planning information, and bus pass sales - Indoor passenger waiting area
- On-site Police satellite station 72 security
cameras - RTD administrative offices on 2nd floor
- Gleasons Ice Cream Café occupies 2,100 sq. ft.
retail space

- Stocktons downtown public transit hub
- 6500 passengers pass through here daily
- Nearly all routes connect at the DTC
- 1 full city block with 4 bus lanes
- 2 Passenger Boarding Platforms provide 20
sheltered, off-street bus stops

facilities - Downtown Transit Center (DTC)
- Metro Operations Facility (built in 1979)
- County Operations Facility (former grocery

- RTD staff toured OCTAs newly opened Santa Ana
Operations Facility during the APTA Conference in
2006 and then again during the California Transit
Associations Conference in 2007 and thought
about using the OCTA design to save time and
costs

- Partnership with Monterey Salinas Transit (MST)
- MST was also planning to build a new Operations
Center and was visiting transit facilities
looking for design concepts - MST liked the OCTA design
- MST and RTD met to discuss challenges with recent
projects and the possibility of using the OCTA
design - RTD and MST held preliminary discussions with
OCTA Staff and Design Engineers and concluded
there might be an opportunity to save significant
time and costs using the OCTA design - RTD and MST held meetings with the Federal
Transit Administration (FTA) to discuss
procurement options to maximize cost savings

concept - Large groups of RTD and MST staff, including
Union and Board representatives, visited OCTA to
tour the facility
