• Derived from the Ancient Greek word 'onkos' which
  means mass, or tumor, Oncology is that branch of
  medicine that deals with tumors (cancer). It is
  related to a diagnosis of cancer in a person,
  therapies like surgery, chemotherapy,
  radiotherapy and other modalities, follow-up of
  cancer patients after successful treatment,
  questions related to cancer care and more.

  of discipline namely medical oncology, radiation
  oncology and surgical oncology. Medical Oncology

  of cancer with by using x-rays, electrons and/or
  gamma rays, and Surgical Oncology is that branch
  of surgery which focuses on managing cancer by
  using surgical methods.

  Medical College Hospital, Vellore, India and
