7General Behaviour
- Be appreciative. Do not comment unfavourably on
the service you receive or make comparisons with
conditions in Singapore. - Keep a lookout for one another.
- Cease all activities and sleep latest by 10 pm.
- Check that your room is securely locked before
you sleep. You should not allow strangers into
your room, including hotel staff. Call the
teachers promptly when you suspect something is
wrong. - You must attend to your luggage, especially
during embarkation and disembarkation. Always
look around to ensure that all the luggage is
taken with the group before proceeding. - If you feel unwell, inform your teachers
immediately. - Bring all your medical history if you have
special allergies/health problems.

teachers and go in twos or threes. - Consume any food/drinks bought from roadside

Secondary School and Chettinad Vidyashram - 2-day immersion programme at each school
- Classroom lessons, laboratory sessions, games and
cultural activities. - Each pupil will be assigned to a buddy, and will
follow their buddies for lessons. - Our pupils will also be putting up a presentation
and performance for both schools in Chennai. - Practice sessions coming Tue, Wed and Fri (12pm -
2 pm, in sch)

- History
- The city was established in the 17th century by
the British, who developed it into a major urban
centre and naval base. By the 20th century, it
had become an important administrative centre, as
the capital of the Madras Presidency.

not exceeding 1-litre. These containers must fit
comfortably within the transparent re-sealable
plastic bag, which must be completely closed - Each passenger is allowed to carry only one
transparent re-sealable plastic bag, which must
be presented separately for examination at the
security screening point - Exemptions will be made for medications, baby
food and special dietary items. These items will
be subjected to additional checks at the security
screening point. - Passengers are encouraged to check in 2 to 3
hours before their flight (subject to airlines'
requirements). - Liquids include
- Drinks, including water and juices
- Perfumes and deodorants (liquid or liquid-solid
mixture) - Creams, balms, lotions and oils

- San Thome Cathedral in Chennai also has a
museum attached with it.To appreciate the
architecture of San Thome Cathedral in Chennai ,
its necessary that you also get to known about
the details of the structure. The nave of the
Cathedral is 112 feet long and 33 feet long. You
will also notice that the tower of San Thome
Cathedral consists three storeys. You will find
that the tip of the cross on the spire, is 50
meters above the ground level.
The Birla Planetarium is a tribute to the
advances made in science and technology since the
dawn of civilization. This beautiful dome shaped
architecture offers visitors, daily sky shows,
both in Telugu and English, unfolding various
aspects of the Cosmos, the beautiful mysteries of
the Universe, the comets, the Hubble Space
Telescope. As the sky show begins, the visitors
are transported into the galaxy as they watch a
large umbrella of an open dark sky with full of
shining stars looking down upon them.

- Parthsarthy Temple, built in 8th century BC
by the Pallavas is one of the oldest temples of
Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The
architectural works of the temple are simply
awesome. There are also a number of shrines in
the temple. Photography is not allowed in the
Sanctum Santorum of the temple.
Spencer Plaza, one of the biggest shopping malls
in South Asia, is located on Mount Road
(officially known as Anna Salai), and is one of
the landmarks of the modern Chennai, Tamil Nadu
state, India. This is one of Chennai's finest
largest shopping mall. Promoted by Mangal Tirth
Estate Ltd., Spencer Plaza is a prestigious
project covering over a million square feet.

- DakshinaChitra is a unique Heritage Centre
located on the east coast road in Muttukadu on
the way to Mahabalipuram which offers the visitor
an unforgettable authentic insight into the
lifestyles of the diverse peoples of South India.
Traditional craftspersons folk artists work
perform in the reconstructed period settings of
19th century streets, homes workshop-spaces in
the TamilNadu Kerala sections. These are
presently open to the public.
Mahabalipuram was the second capital of the
Pallava kings of Kanchipuram. 58 kilometres from
Madras on the Bay of Bengal, this tiny sea - side
village of Mahabalipuram, is set in a boulder -
strewn landscape. Tourists are drawn to this
place by its miles of unspoiled beach and
rock-cut art. The sculpture, here, is
particularly interesting because it shows scenes
of day-to- day life, in contrast with the rest of
the state of Tamil Nadu, where the carvings
generally depict gods and goddesses.

provided for, it is not necessary to bring too
much cash. - Current exchange rate is approx S100 2,800 INR
- It is ideal to change your money in Singapore.
- You are encouraged not to bring more than 8,600
INR (approx S300) - You might want to have some cash just for
shopping of souvenirs. - Valuables
- Do not bring any valuables, e.g. laptop,
jewellery, discman, electronics game set. A
camera, however, is acceptable.

in a small group of 2-3 and inform the teacher
before you leave. - Do not change hotel room or seats without the
teachers consent. - Please be punctual and participate in all
activities. - Take care of your room-mate and remind each other
of safety and punctuality.
