1016 VERMIWASH
Vermiwash is a liquid fertiliser, a foliar spray,
collected by passing water in a regulated way
through a column of active live local
earthworms being cultured in a container, being
fed with cattle dung and straw.
MATERIALS NEEDED
A barrel (250l) or even a small bucket Broken
stones, Coarse sand, Garden soil Earthworms Cattle
dung, Straw, Water
2Set up the drum or barrel with an outlet on a
couple of bricks to facilitate collection of
vermiwash
3Fill in the layers as shown above. Moisten the
soil well. Introduce local earthworms into the
soil and offer them cattle dung and straw as
feed. Leave 15 days to acclimatize. Allow the
dilute water from the outlet to flow.
4After 15 days

Water sprinkler 1 litre for a 50 litre unit

Day 16, suspend a drip bucket on top and add
water (1 litre for 50 litres of container size),
close outlet. Open outlet next morning and
collect vermiwash. Continue every day. Add feed
when required.
