024 PHOTOTROPISM RESPONSE OF PLANTS TO LIGHT
This experiment explains the principle of plants
response to light
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Chick pea or green gram seedlings about 5 cm in
height. A dark box (old cardboard box) with a
hole on only one side so that light enters the
box only through that hole.

Keep observing. After 3 hours, the seedlings bend
towards the direction of light showing
phototopism. If you use monocots, it will take
some time before the plant bends towards light
due to the coleoptiles.
