money to help the homeless and hungry this
Christmas.

The Salvation Army has teamed up with the New
Covent Garden Food Co. In December look out for a
special New Covent Garden soup in your local
shops. Buying the soup will help to raise money
for The Salvation Army.
Theres also an exciting Soup Kitchen Challenge
for everyone to get involved in and support The
Salvation Armys work in their community and
around the UK Ireland.

How to take part
Decide where to hold your soup lunch or soup
event. Make sure you talk to your teacher,
leader, parent or carer about your ideas.
Visit www.salvationarmy.org.uk/kids to find out
more about Soup Kitchen Challenge and how to
organise your event. There are tips to help you
plan your event, soup recipes, posters, fact
files about The Salvation Armys work and a
sponsorship form.

Competition!
Send in pictures or videos and a report about
your event to the New Covent Garden Food Co to be
published on their website.
The most original, wacky, or interesting entry
will win a family outing to London, including a
trip to a special Christmas Carol Concert at the
Royal Albert Hall! The closing date for entries
is 5th December.

Where will all the money go?
All the money raised will go to The Salvation
Armys work with people who are homeless or in
need
  • Helping people to move off the streets and,
    eventually, into their own home.
  • Drop-in centres and soup-runs.
  • Providing dinners and food parcels for
    families and people who are struggling this
    Christmas.
