FLRC COMMITTEE
Changes No significant changes over previous
years requiring a change in preparations. Minor
changes include Lane Evaluator will remain with
the squad throughout the day, rotating to each
event with the same squad. No longer will those
assessed as overall Need Improvement receive a
second evaluated leadership position at
FLRC. Keys to Success Hasty planning utilizing
the five paragraph field order. Being able to
quickly formulate a plan, assess whether it is
working and adjust it as needed. Other key is
maintaining control of your squad during
execution.
6
FLRC
  • Changes
  • Trainer Evaluators will rotate with the squad
    throughout the day (standardization)
  • Trainer Evaluators will conduct a hotwash
    after each iteration (learning/building)
  • Each squad member will receive only one
    evaluation at FLRC
  • Four new obstacles constructed for total of 12
    per squad
  • Keys to Success
  • Focus on planning, assessment and execution prep
and delivery in a time constrained environment
    (PL, AS, EX)

  • Written test 2 (redo) may be in the field at LN
    site.
  • - Requested by Commandant, LN Committee will
    resource.
  • 3. Night land nav will be shorter distances than
last year and more points will be in the open
    areas.
  • - PMS needs to ensure cadets can navigate by
dead reckoning as well as using attack points
    and terrain association.
  • - LN Committee will refresh all techniques
    during train-up.
  • LN committee will retrain failures on site.
  • - Unit cadre is certainly welcome to assist
    as necessary.
  • - Map reading retraining remains a unit
    cadre responsibility.
  • Keys to Success Go to http//www.usaac.army.mil/a

CONFIDENCE TRAINING
  • Changes
  • No significant changes were made over last year
  • Keys to Success
  • Teach them how to climb a rope before camp.
Particularly those who have follow on training at
AAS as they could be disqualified at camp when
the committee does the verification checks
  • ID weak and non swimmers- if necessary send in
swim waiver request this may to prevent either a
camp disenrollment board if they receive a
"Refusal to Train" at either CWST or Water
    Confidence
  • Have the schools explain leadership dimensions
and how they add to a leaders or teams overall
performance. It is not all about "Actions on the
    Objective
  • Have cadets go to a confidence/obstacle course
before camp to help over come fears of height
  • Make sure every cadet has broken in the second
pair of boots prior to camp 90 of our injuries
on the site are from cadets whose feet are eaten
up because they come from Land Nav to us via a
3km road march and they have never worn the
    second pair
  • Cadets need to ID previous injuries to committees
that have high risk training learn before camp
how to correctly stretch to prevent further
    injury while at training

9
CWST
  • Changes No changes to CWST tasks we will
demonstrate an unexpected entry from the side of
the pool with a soldier wearing full IBA. Cadets
will not attempt this task, only observe.
  • Keys to Success
  • Confidence in the 3M unexpected entry
  • 15 M swim with TA-50 and weapon (weapon does not
need to stay out of or above water)

10
Cultural Awareness
  • Changes
  • Better integration of CA themes with Squad STX
    and patrolling
  • POI validated by TRADOC CA center
  • Keys to Success
  • Cadets should approach CA training as a combat
    multiplier
  • Regiments need to distribute the Palomas GTA
prior to CA training on day 13 so cadets are
    familiar with it

11
ITT Committee
  • Changes
  • Cadets will not wear eye protection under the
    paint ball mask
  • Instruction on KOB has been added
  • KOB culminates Lane 5 in lieu of clear a one
room building. Clear a one room building still
    culminates Lane 6
  • Keys to Success
  • Ensure Cadets know and understand basic battle
    drills
  • Ensure Cadets know and understand IMT and squad
    movement techniques

12
1ST Aid Committee
Changes There are no significant changes to the
training conducted at 1st Aid. Keys to
Success The training at 1st Aid is designed to
provide familiarization training on a number of
Warrior Tasks and BOLC I tasks. There is no
formal evaluation process at the committee.
However, CPR is the task we use to track for
RECONDO. Last year we only had three Cadets
knocked out of RECONDO because of CPR. All three
chose not to use their notes during testing. -
Use your notes during evaluated events
