  • Poetry comes in all shapes and sizes
  • Poetry expresses many moods and feelings
  • Poetry is a way of playing with words and language

Forms of Poetry
  • Poems may or may not rhyme
  • Sometimes poetry follows specific patterns or
    shapes, but not always
  • Most people feel they arent good at writing
    poetry

Name or Acrostic Poem
  • List the letters of a name in a column going up
    and down the left hand side of the paper
  • Put one letter on each line
  • Each letter starts that line of the poem
  • Each line tells something about that person
  • Does not have to rhyme
