  • There is a set item for every day for example
    today is fried chicken day but associates choose
    side items for the day
  • Customer satisfaction..keeping fresh product in
    stock, keeping customer happy as they leave
  • Chances of getting cut or burned by work items
    such as knives, fryers, oven, bread slicers
  • 7am-9pm
  • No special training, I was in retail and food for
    20 years so it was a help but no required training

What I liked..
  • Going through the freezers, cooking the food for
    hot lines, grading the produce, the people who
    worked there.

What I Learned
  • How to grade items, stock and block shelves,
    check temperatures and stock, how to operate a
    commercial rotisserie cooker.

Impact On Future Goals.
  • I would be willing to work in a place like this
    especially in the short term future.
  • Eventually I will move on to different things.

What I Did
  • Took tour of entire store including freezers,
    storage, departments, etc.
  • Met the different people who run the departments
  • Helped rearrange storage space in meat freezer
  • Graded vegetables in produce
  • Went to get boxes of chicken for deli department.
  • Cleaned and seasoned the chicken, then put it in
    the slow cooker.
  • Blocked Shelves Moved items to front of shelves
    to make it look better
  • Filled seafood counter with ice
