  recruiters by ExecuNet, an executive job-search
  and networking organization, 75 of recruiters
  use search engines to uncover information about
  candidates, and 26 of recruiters have eliminated
  candidates because of information found online.

• According to the National Workrights Institute,
  in Princeton, New Jersey, if an executive (or
  principal) is offended by a blog entry, most
  states offer no protection for the person being
  fired.

• Employers are realizing that what people do
  online can actually prove their value as
  potential hires, not just rule them out based on
  drunken photos or revelations of other past
  missteps.
