• Once the Khmer Rouge had won control of Cambodia,
  they no longer helped Prince Sihanouk.
• They began to run Cambodia according to their own
  political belief radical communism.
• While the Khmer Rouge were in power more than 1
  million Cambodians died.

• Pol Pot was the leader of the Khmer Rouge.
• After the Khmer Rouge were overthrown by the
  Vietnamese, Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge continued
  to fight a guerrilla war from the jungle.
• Many people wanted to capture Pol Pot and make
  him stand trial for killing so many people.
• But Pol Pot was never captured before his death
  in 1998.
