7Skate School
- Pepsi Ice Midwest Skate School offers over 60
Learn to Skate classes to an average of 300
skaters on a weekly basis. We offer excellent
training and instruction for learn to skate,
hockey, and figure skating. Skate School
Director, Michelle Lauerman, has a business
administration degree and has been involved in
skating for twenty years, including ten years of
coaching experience. The Pepsi Ice Midwest Skate
School is actively involved in both the ISI and
USFS skating programs. - Learn to Skate classes for all ages (3 and up)
- Learn to play hockey for all ages
- Advanced figure skating classes for all ages

8Youth Hockey

- 43 teams and thousands of players currently play
at the facility - Kansas City Stars - The Kansas City Stars
association is one of the largest hockey
associations in the Midwest. - 22 teams with 320 players ages 4 18 play on
house or travel teams. - 2 Travel High School Teams with 40 players (new
this year 2007/2008) - 6 travel teams designated A or AA travel in the
Midwest area. - 2 Tier 1 AAA Midget teams are ranked in the
Nations top 20. (Tier 1 teams are sponsored by
Russell Stover Candies.) - This year the Stars will be adding 2 more Midget
teams that will play in the Midwest High School
Hockey League at the JV and Varsity levels. - Pat Ferschweilers Russell Stover Travel Team -
18 and U took third in the nation - 2007 - Pepsi Ice Midwest supports Kansas City Officials
Association (KCOA,) accredited and trained
referees, with over 20 current officials.
9Adult Hockey League
- Hockey League with over 300 players.
- (Pepsi Ice Midwest also offers Adult Stick Times,
and Adult Classes to Play Hockey) - Fall/Winter
- 31 Adult teams involved in games which occur on
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings starting in
September and ending in April of each year. - Spring/Summer
- 26 Adult teams involved in games which occur on
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings starting in
September and ending in April of each year. - 13 Adult teams May thru August
- Pond Hockey
- 4 teams involved in games throughout the year
- and occur on Wednesday evenings.
- Independent Mens Hockey
- 4 teams every Thursday night.
10Silver Blades Figure Skating Club
- Membership
- Silver Blades is the home club to over 150
members. - The club annually sends members to the
Southwestern regional qualifying competition.
From there, Silver Blades skaters have qualified
onto and medaled at the Junior Olympics, U.S.
Figure Skating Nationals, and various
International competition. - History
- Silver Blades is one of the oldest clubs
operating within the ranks of U.S Figure Skating
since the incorporation of the club in 1939. - Silver Blades has been proud to call Pepsi Ice
Midwest their home rink since 2000 when the rink
first opened.
11Public Skate
Pepsi Ice Midwest offers a wide variety of public
skate times Hen House Grocers partner with Pepsi
Ice Midwest for a popular, Summertime, Friday
Night Big Chill, where unique entertainment is
offered for pre-teens, teens and whole families.
Lights Music, D.J. and Games Public Skate has
become a popular past time for area teens
Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays as well as
School Days Off, are big days and well attended.
Recently purchased 300 new pairs of rental
skates. We have three rink side party areas for
birthday parties during public skate

only 3 regulation size indoor ice-skating rinks
in the metropolitan area.

coaching time.
