Early Years

• Born on June 6th, 1755
• He was a school teacher before he went to the
  Revolutionary War
• He was from Connecticut
• He died in 1776

Accomplishments

• He got a letter from his best friend who died in
  the war to tell him to fight for him and thats
  how he decided to be in the Revolutionary War

Later Years

• His son became a minister
• In late 1774 he was offered a permanent teaching
  position
• Hale joined a local militia and was soon elected
  1st sergeant
• He died in 1776

• There is a Nathan Hale Schoolhouse in New London,
  Connecticut
