2
Hypothesis
  • I think taping the wings down will make the
variable helicopter fall a lot slower than the
    control experiment.

3
Variable
  • I will be taping the wings down for my variable
experiment.I will be taping the wings down for my
    variable experiment.

4
Materials
  • Paper helicopter
  • Tape
  • Timer/Clock
  • Scissors
  • All of these materials you will need to
    participate in this experiment.

5
Operational Definition
  • I am going to time the control helicopter on its
    way down.
  • Then I will do the same with my variable
helicopter and find the differences between the
two experiments. I will do at least two trials.

6
Procedures
  • Control
  • The first thing I am going to do is cut out my
paper helicopter according to the directions on
    the cut out sheet.
  • Then, without changing anything, I am going to
drop my paper helicopter from the top of my head.
As the helicopter is falling I am going to time
    the helicopter.
  • While doing the experiment I am going to record
    my data and observations.
  • Variable
  • I am going to then tape the propellers down with
    tape.
  • I am then going to drop the variable experiment
from the top of my head, I am going to drop the
helicopter. While the helicopter is falling, I am
going to time it on its way down.
  • While doing the experiment I am going to record
    my data and observations.

Data Table
8
Observations
  • The control experiment twirled a lot more than
    the variable.
  • The variable experiment fell a lot slower than
    the control.
  • The control flipped only once.

9
Conclusion
  • I conclude that my hypothesis is correct. My
variable fell a lot slower than my original
experiment. I believe that happened because there
was less pressure on the helicopter and the
propellers werent as free as the control was.
