Lung capacity indicates the respirator health of
a person. A simple respirometer can be designed
and the lung capacities of students be compared.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Large container. Plastic bottle. Plastic
pipe. Card board with a slit Marker pen

Fill the large container with water. Mark on the
plastic bottle with marker pen. Fill the plastic
bottle with water and invert it into the large
container. Keep the bottle in position using slit
card board. Introduce one end of thin plastic
tube into the bottle. Inhale deeply. Blow air
through other end of tube. Measure the amount of
water expelled by reading on bottles.
Compare readings before and after playing games
and between friends.
