2Brief History of Christopher Columbus
- Born in 1451 in Genoa, Italy
- Hired as a cabin boy at 14 and then made a
captain at 30 - Nobody wanted to help fund the voyage except
Queen Isabella - Given three ships and 80 men to serve as
crewmembers - Discovered the New World on October 12, 1492

4Relationship between Europeans and Native
Americans(in the beginning)
The Native Americans were happy to see other
people reaching their land. When the white
people came they worshiped them. The Native
Americans would give them food, a place to stay,
and would rub oils all over their body. However,
this strong relationship does not last long. The
Native Americans will soon feel betrayed by the
Europeans.

- Europeans did not understand the difference

6The Columbian Exchange
The significance of the Columbian Exchange was
the trading of different items from both the New
and Old World.

7Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade
The Columbian Exchange triggered slave trading
of African-Americans from Africa going to North
America, South America, Europe, Mexico and
Central America. Many of the slaves died on the
trip to their new destination.
