9Malibu's Strengths
Malibu Boats is aggressive by nature and from the
beginning has continually pushed to improve their
product. Making the best boats is not enough
Malibu wants their boats to be at its peak
performance at all times. Malibu believes, The
difference is in the details!
10The Difference...
is in the comfort.
38 oz. GT Marine vinyl shrouds tri-ply interior
foam, providing multiple densities of support to
comfort and eliminate sags
flip-up bolster seat elevates the driver to a new
vantage point, increases visibility and removes
all doubt when obstacles come into question
billet dash insert is machined from a solid piece
of aluminum, then chromed standard in all
Wakesetter series models demonstrating of the
level of refinement
11The Difference...
is in the technology.
what you dont see is the patented Fiberglass
Engine Chassis System (FibECS) that is chemically
bonded to the interior of the hull at a molecular
level with Weld-On, to achieve unibody
construction
Malibus are built to extremes with multiple
layers of hand laid bi-directional and
tridirectional fiberglass creating the
industry-leading ceramic coring
Sound Suppression Technology (MSST) lines the
laminate of almost every Malibu model and
eliminates prop thrust vibration and drive train
noise
12The Difference...
is in the performance.
adjustable load rudder is standard on all models
and can be adjusted with the quick turn of an
Allen screw
Malibu has introduced an in-dash Ballast
Monitoring System (BMS) to allow riders to fine
tune the placement of the 1,250 lbs of ballast
weight
120 square-inch Gorilla Fins plunge deep into the
water beneath the boat and offer an oversized
surface area to allow a level of tracking and
handling only matched by Direct-Drive boats
the Wedge increases the wake without adding
weight, without exceeding your boats weight
capacity limits and without a significant
decrease in handling
13The Difference...
is in the power.
320 horses and 375 foot-pounds of torque, its
core is the latest Delphi ECM (engine computer
module) running the latest software, all
custom-calibrated by Indmar
Monsoon 340 (340 HP) delivers 390 foot-pounds of
torque. This customized version of GMs Vortec
5700 and designed to push Malibus performance
Hammerhead 383 (400 HP) is a stroker engine and
the most powerful 6.2L small-block V8 ever
developed for inboard use
The Malibu Corvette LS1 puts out 375 horses and
390 foot-pounds of torque with a tall and broad
power band
14Competitive Advantage
Malibu is the first and only ski boat
manufacturer to have multiple manufacturing
facilities. With factories on both the East and
West Coast, Malibu is able to deliver their
products nationwide with a considerable freight
advantage to their dealers and customers. Also,
having three factories gives Malibu more
resources for the developing new products and
allows them greater distribution capabilities
throughout the world. As a result, sales increase
for their dealers and better service can be given
to their customers.
15Factories in the United States
- Construction began on August 25, 1997 on the new
California Plant - The plant was completed less than seven months
later - Spans 86,000 square feet

18Finished products are shipped to retailers within
the U.S. from one of the two manufacturing
facilities. The east coast receives products
manufactured here in Tennessee, while the west
coast orders are filled from the plant located in
California. Both plants are able to import or
export materials and products worldwide.

21Inventory Management Strategy
- Essential Items such as fiberglass, upholstery,
and dashboard configurations are kept in stock
with a large safety stock. - When the safety stock is reached, more essential
supplies are ordered through weekly stock orders.
22Inventory Management Strategy
- Specialty items such as wakeboard towers and Sony
CD players are kept in limited supply. Items are
replenished with the weekly stock orders. - Items such as the Corvette Engines are not kept
in stock, but put on order when needed.
23Information Coordination
- Malibu uses mainly a Pull system
- Boats are custom made when they are ordered
- Customers can access boat options
www.malibuboats.com and do not have to go
directly to a dealer - After customizing their boat, customers can then
take a print out to their local dealer and have
it ordered just the way they like it - An order will then be received by the closest
manufacturing facility, and the boat will be made
and delivered to the customer
