6METHODOLOGY FOR PREPARATION OF SREP
- Master trainers at state level were developed
- District level training for developing core teams
for each AES - Collection of data in representative villages by
core teams by using PRA tools - Consolidation of data and experiences sharing by
teams - Preparation of draft SREP on participatory
approach - Presentation of initial findings by each AES
team - Modifications and alterations as suggested by
District level officers, UAS scientists, NGOs
progressive farmers - Preparation of final SREP

Note The identified existing farming systems
under each AESs, has been analyzed taking into
consideration all the resources for each
category of farmers i.e., resource rich
resource poor and benefit cost ratio. SWOT was
also worked out and compared with the mutually
agreed upon Farming System and the gaps in
knowledge and skills were identified which
became the basis for developing the strategies.

Already there are 25 Public Private and Private
Private Partnership are existing in Kolar
district. Efforts shall be made for arranging buy
back systems for Vegetables and Horticultural
crops. By linking commodity groups with SAFAL
market, HOPCOMS etc.
49GENDER ISSUES AND PROPOSED STRATEGY FOR
EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN
IN KOLAR DISTRICT THERE ARE ABOUT 6400 SHGs,
WOMEN MILK PRODUCERS ASSOCIATIONS, 32 SWASHAKTI
GROUPS AND ONE DISTRICT WOMEN FEDERATIONS FOR
INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITIES. A HIGH LEVEL OF
POLITICAL AWARNESS IN WOMEN IS EXISTING. IN
VIEW OF THE ABOVE THE STRATEGY FOR EMPOWEREMENT
SHALL BE TO RE-ORIENT THE EXISTING GROUPS AROUND
A COMMODITY AND THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN VALUE
ADDITION PROGRAMS AND MARKETING CAN BE TAKEN UP.
