Title: HAYFEVER
1Fleetville Infant and Nursery School NEWSLETTER
Summer Term 13th May 2008
A note from the Headteacher It looks as if Summer
is finally here and everyone is enjoying the fine
weather. This does, of course, bring its own
challenges which we hope we can all work together
to keep to a minimum to ensure the safety and
well being of the children. Androulla Peek,
Headteacher
HAYFEVER Now that the hay fever season is pretty
much upon us we are experiencing a few requests
regarding the administration of hay fever
medicine during the day. Clearly, it is best
where possible, for the children to take
preventative medicines before they arrive at
School. However, whilst we would not normally
administer non-prescribed medicine if your child
does suffer from severe hay fever we will in
exceptional circumstances give them antihistamine
medicine if you provide it. You must, however,
talk to someone in the school office and complete
the relevant forms giving your permission. At no
time should the children bring any medicine into
school themselves it must always be dropped off
and collected by an adult via the school office.
- Sunwatch Days
- Now that the warm and sunny weather is here we
would like to take this opportunity to remind you
of some of the sensible precautions that could be
taken to ensure your childs well being during
the school day. - ?Sun cream can be put on just before leaving for
school which should last them through the school
day. We would ask that children do not bring sun
cream with them to school. - We feel it is important for children to enjoy
their playtimes and ask that they bring in a sun
hat to wear every - time they go out. If you dont have your own -
caps - and sunhats are available to purchase from
- the school office.
- PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL ITEMS ARE NAMED.
- At lunchtime play on really hot sunny days (from
12.30 onwards) the children are moved out of the
sun as far as possible asked to play quiet
games given the opportunity to read, draw or
watch a video in the hall. - All children are positively encouraged to drink
at least one full glass of water at lunchtime and
they have free access to water at other times
from the fountains in the playground. - Children are very welcome to wear sandals but
they must be sturdy and have a heel strap (no
flipflops/crocs etc please). Socks are not
compulsory. - Due to the unpredictable nature of the weather on
occasion it would also be helpful if children
could still bring in a waterproof in case of
showers.
SCHOOL UNIFORM We will be placing a uniform
order soon to accommodate the requests for the
children due to start next September. Although we
do try to keep a small stock in school throughout
the year for general requests if you wish to
order school uniform for your children then
please collect an order form from the School
Office. We must have this back by Friday, 6th
June if you wish to receive your uniform before
the end of the Summer Term. Thanks.
