3What is a bibliography?
- When you write a research report, you will use
many different sources to get your information.
You may find information in newspapers,
magazines, and encyclopedias, as well as using
the internet. - You must always give credit to those authors
whose work you include in your paper. You can do
this through the use of footnotes, and a
BIBLIOGRAPHY page which is placed at the end of
your report.
4- There are several different ways of formatting
bibliography entries, but the examples in the
following pages are typical of the most common
styles. - Notice that the lines below the top line are
indented. This is done to make it easier to
identify each entry, as well as putting the
entries in alphabetical order.
5- When you are required to write a research
paper, ask the teacher if he/she has a preferred
format for bibliography entries. If the answer is
yes, you should ask for examples of the required
format. - Otherwise, the following examples should be
followed
