Title: Welcome to the Julia Tutwiler Library
1Welcome to the Julia Tutwiler Library
2We need you to act as our first line of defense
to keep our collection in good shape.
3Most of the time, it will be you who first sees
damage to a book
If you do not bring it to our attention, no one
can repair the damage.
4Most of the time, you do the shelving. Improper
shelving can damage books
5Most of the time, you visually inspect the
library for possible problems, materials left
lying around, trash, etc.
6You may be the first to notice a leaky ceiling or
mold on the books.
7Most of the time, you will empty the book drop
and check the books back in
If the books are damaged and you do not bring it
to our attention, the damage may actually become
worse
8We need you. We need your help. We need your
eyes.
9TRAINING CHECKLIST A checklist of the Power
Point presentations has been prepared for your
use. There are copies available in the back of
the notebook located at the front desk. Please
take a copy of this checklist and check off each
section after you have viewed the Power Point
presentation. Each Power Point has a review
quiz. After viewing each Power Point, ask the
librarian to print a copy of the review quiz.
After taking the quiz, give it to Ms. Brannan,
Ms. Ross, or Ms. Bedsole. Please do not try to
view all the presentations in one day. There is
too much information covered to be retained if
you try to view all the presentations in too
short a period.
10If you have any questions, please see the person
in charge of book repair. As of August 1, 2005,
this was Ms. Joyce A. Brannan. You may also
leave a note on her desk and the answer will be
left for you at the front desk. Each presentation
has also been printed out and is in the notebook
so that you may review the information. Additional
information and a question and answer section
are contained in the back of the notebook.
