Board of Directors
  • Comprised of a minimum of 51 civilian spouses of
    Military members, that work as trustees on behalf
    of the community
  • Voted into office at the AGM which
  • is usually held in May
  • Interim Board members may be appointed to fill
    vacancies to complete the current term of office

What does the Board do?
  • Develop policies and administrative orders for
    the MFRC
  • Develop Vision Statements
  • Review the Annual Service Delivery Agreement
  • Approve the Service Delivery Agreement
  • Review the Financial posture of the Centre
    monthly
  • Identify the community needs (Needs Assessment)
  • Evaluation of implemented Programs and Services
  • Evaluate work performance of the Executive
    Director
  • Public Relations in collaboration with the
    Information Referral Coordinator
  • Fundraising
  • Board Member Recruitment
  • Conduct an Annual General Meeting
  • Attend monthly meetings, and special events

How Can I Become a Board Member?
  • Complete a Volunteer Application form
  • and submit to the Volunteer Coordinator
  • for processing in the same manner as all
  • Staff and Volunteers
  • The candidate must consent to having references
    checked, a Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse
    Register check and sign an Oath of
    Confidentiality
  • Attend a Board Orientation training session
  • Attend Moncton MFRC Board Training Course
  • Attend two monthly Board Meetings as an observer
  • Be interviewed by the Executive Committee

What Special Activities has the PEI MFSC
Sponsored over the last year?
  • Coffee Breakaways
  • held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 10am
    to 1130 am
  • Open for all members to attend and mingle
  • As a result of requests received from members
    attending, the Breakaways are being held at each
    Unit on a revolving basis

  • Breakfast with Santa
  • Open to all members and their families
  • Santa and Mrs. Claus gave out presents to all of
    the children
  • Coloring books and treat bags for the kiddies
  • Lots of good food to eat
  • Letters from Santa
  • Personalized letters were
  • sent to members
  • children prior to Christmas

  • 2nd Annual BINGO Fundraiser
  • Held Feb. 24th at HMCS Queen Charlotte
  • Our very own tiara adorned WO
    Longaphee showed us what a real bingo caller
    could do!
  • 3500 worth of prizes were given away
  • 63 Corporate Sponsors supported the
    event
  • 52 Bingo lovers joined in on the fun

  • Support our Troops Magnet Campaign
  • Raise public awareness and support for our
    members who are deployed overseas
  • To date, the PEI MFSC has sold 2 shipments of 100
    magnets and are presently starting on our third
  • All proceeds go toward programming
  • Feel free to contact the PEI MFSC for magnets to
    sell - 5.00 each (we also have yellow ribbon
    pins that sell for 3.00 each)
