• The FRG Valentine Rose/Cookie sale was a huge
  success and proceeds will be used to off-set
  costs for our SSI family day event being held
  this spring.
• In this months FRG meeting there are several
  board positions available. We need volunteers
  for Leader, Assistant Leader, and soon a fund
  custodian and military liaison. I hope to see
  everyone there.
• Common Military Training (CMT) this month is on
  Heat Injury Prevention Training. Please make
  every effort to attend this training. As a norm,
  this training is conducted on the first Thursday
  of the month at 1600. The location is the SSI
  Auditorium.
• Be on the lookout for some upcoming events on
  post
• - The FJ Volunteer Hall and FJ Volunteer of
  the Year of Fame. Both Nominations due NLT 14
  March. The ceremony will be in April. The exact
  date is still under review at the post level.
• - The Womans History Luncheon is on 18
  March at the Officers Club.
• - Fort Jackson is hosting an Easter Sunrise
  Service at Hilton Field starting at 630 a.m. on
  23 March.
• - The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP)
  Conference is on 1 April at the Officers club.
  Volunteers are still needed. Post POC is Ms.
  Garza at 751-3425.
• - Motorcycle Safety Awareness Event on 28
  March from 1300-1630, Solomon Center. All SSI
  motorcycle riders are required to attend from
  1300-1400.
• Please continue to keep our deployed Soldiers
  and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
  Deployment is a difficult time for all involved
  and I encourage you to help support our family
  members at every opportunity.

Tax Season The Fort Jackson Tax Center is now
open. It is located in building 2441 Supply
Road. The office hours are Monday through Friday
from 900 a.m. to 430 p.m. Call 751-JTAX (5829)
for an appointment.

FMS News! Upcoming Army Financial Management
Workshop 2008 to be held at the Marriott Hotel in
Columbia, SC during the period 30 April 2 May
2008. We have invited Flag Officers, Senior
Executive Services, and Department of Defense
speakers across our services to bring together a
joint flavor to this years AFMW. Other events
include Finance Corps Association general
assembly meeting, 5K fun run, regimental ball,
and golf tournament. Check the website

ATTENTION SSI MOTORCYCLE RIDERS

• There will be a RALLY on 28 March 2008 from
  1300-1630 of Fort Jackson.
• This event will highlight Motorcycle Safety
  Awareness. 1300-1400 is Mandatory for all SSI
  motorcycle riders.
• Events include a T-CLOCKS inspection and will
  conclude with a 17-mile ride around the
  installation. Prizes, raffles, music and more
  will be available.
• See our own Safety Pete Testerman for more
  information/details.
