2Good morning, principal, teachers and fellow
schoolmates.
3Im Kin
Im Cat
4Today, we are going to talk about a popular
festival in Hong Kong Halloween. Cat, do you
know the history of Halloween?
5I know, in the past, people really believed that
evil spirits would appear on the evening of
October 31. Very few people believe that now.
Its all about having fun.
6Yes, in the U.S., most houses have a
jack-o-lantern in the window. Thats a lantern
made from a big round pumpkin with a lighted
candle inside. We carve a mouth, nose and eyes
in the shell of the pumpkin.
7Yes, the kids like to dress up in unusual or
scary costumes as witches or other weird
creatures on Halloween night. They knock on
peoples doors and say Trick or Treat.
8Most people open the door and give them some
sweets-or-candy. But if they get nothing, the
kids may play a trick on the people in the house.
9Are you kidding? Today is not Halloween!
Halloween is still two weeks away.
Trick or Treat?
10Thank you.
