2Lili Maldonado
- School back then was very different from school
today. Not as many kids as there are today.
Elementary, middle, and high school were all in
one building. - Mrs. Maldonado did not have a favorite teacher
but remembers Mrs. Winston because she would slap
your hand if you misbehaved. - Her favorite grade was 6th grade, and she was in
the AB honor roll. - She played volleyball, basketball, tennis and ran
track. - In band she played the bass clarinet.
- Mrs. Maldonado was a Spring Fiesta queen and also
a Homecoming Lady in Waiting.
She has 3 kids, they all came to CES. Two are now
in college and the other is a freshman in high
school.

3Elizabeth Moreno
- Elizabeth Moreno went to school on the mid 70s.
She says school on that time was very formal.
They wore normal clothes instead of school
uniforms on school days. Her favorite subject
was Science her favorite teacher and grade was
Mrs. Gonzales, 5th grade teacher. Her grades were
mostly Bs. - In her Middle school days in the 1980s she
played basketball, and was the volleyball
manager. In High school she was in student
council. She got 6th place at Business
Professionals of America.
Mrs. Moreno has 2 daughters that come to
Canutillo, one in 1st grade and one in pre-k.

4Carmen Arroyos
- School was very different. it was very small. Her
favorite teacher was Mr. Dillard and her
favorite subject was English. She played
basketball and ran track in High School. People
said that CHS was bad and if you graduated from
Canutillo High school you could not get into a
good collage. - Mrs. Arroyos has two kids, one in 5th grade at
Canutillo Elementary and one who graduated from
Canutillo High school.

5Martha Castillo
- Her favorite grade was 6th and her favorite
teacher was Mrs. Copeland. She says Mrs. Copeland
was awesome. Average grades for her were As and
Bs. She mostly enjoyed playing at the monkey
bars in elementary school. In high school she
played baseball, basketball, and ran track.
She has three girls, two at Canutillo Elementary
school, one in 4th and one in 2nd grade. The
other daughter is in seventh grade at Alderete
Middle School. She enjoys walking every day.

6Cynthia Arteaga
- Mrs. Arteaga has worked at district for seventeen
years. Ten are at Head start and seven are at
Canutillo Elementary. Mrs. Arteaga has been
teaching two grades, kinder and second grade. She
is currently teaching 2nd grade. - .
- Mrs. Arteaga thinks that Canutillo is very
special to her because she went to C.E.S C.M.S,
and graduated from C.H.S. She went to N.M.S.U
were she got her teaching degree then later went
to UTEP were she got her masters degree. Now she
is going to Sulross University - Mrs.. Arteaga did sports such as basketball,
football, basketball, track, softball. She
currently coaches cheerleading at the High
school. - Mrs. Arteaga is the only girl from seven children
and shes the youngest. Her mom and dad are
currently living in Canutillo. Her children are
named Isaiah, Natalia, Marisa, Joseph. Joseph is
13, Marisa is 11, Isaiah is 4, and Natalia is 9.
Mrs. Arteaga is currently living in Canutillo
with her husband and four children

7Carolyn Wood
- 1. Yes I love being a teacher.
- 2. I have worked in a private school.
- 3. I have taught 2nd and 6th but I enjoy
teaching 3rd. - 4. I was married for 15 years, that is enough
for everyone. - 5. My kids are special to me their names are
Catherine, Robert, and Leslie. - 7. I can meet children from my community.
- 8. My kids are important to me but my job is
super important. It makes me fell like I am doing
something.

8Mrs.Jamie Coats
- 1. Yes because I like to teach.
- 2. No Ive only worked in Canutillo Elementary
School. - 3. Yes, I have been in 4th and 1st.
- 4. No, I think is easy because I like to teach
kids. - 5. Yes, his name is Mr. Coats he was a teacher.
- 6. Yes, I have two boys.
- 8. My favorite grade is 1st.
- 9. I have two boys and both have jobs their names
are Keith and Craig. -

9Mrs. Monica Garcia
- 1.I was an assistant principal for 4 and a half
years. - 2.I have 3 children, Dylan, Rebecca and Kaleen.
- 3 .I like it a lot, I like it very much, I like
the students, I like the teachers, I like the
community, I like everything about this school. - 5. I enjoy teaching and I could effect the lives
of children in a positive way. - 6.I like the teachers they would get along fine I
think. - 7. I love being a principal because I get to meet
children that are in my community.

10Elizabeth Perez
- It has been a joy to import knowledge and
enthusiasm to this school experience throughout
my 19 years of teaching. - My experience at CHS was that of a small family
with good friends and great teachers. - She has taught 1st and 2nd grades. She has taught
monolingual and bilingual classes. - My family is comprised of my true love my husband
and our 2 boys ranging from 14yrs-2yrs. - All my siblings attended CHS. She has 2 sisters
and 1 brother. - Teaching is my calling, is what I was born to do.
Elizabeth feels alive and happiest when she
teaches
