• Forget-Me-Not is the state flower.
• This flower covers the Alaskan Hills valley
  during the summer months.
• The flower is sky blue with a yellow center.

• Dog mushing is the official state sport.
• Annual Dog Sled Race is the Iditarod.
• Race is from Anchorage to Nome, 1151 miles.
• The Race is called The Last Great Race on Earth.

Alaskan Eskimo

• Eskimos have to dress warm in the cold winter
  months.
• Eskimo clothing was made from skins of birds and
  animals.
• Seal, caribou, and polar bear skins were sewn to
  make hooded jackets, pants, and waterproof boots.

Alaskan Igloo

• A winter house, which is partially dug into the
  ground and covered with snow.
• It has a dome-shape made of blocks of snow placed
  in ascending spiral with a low tunnel entrance.
• When winter ends, and it warms up outside, the
  igloo will melt.

• Polar Bear has thick white fur.
• Layers of blubber help protect it from the cold.
• Polar bears white fur make it almost invisible
  against the snow.
• Polar bear eats only meat.

• Palm trees grow in warm places with a lot of
  sunshine.
• Palm trees have long trunks and leaves at the
  top.
• Their leaves look like big feathers.
• Coconuts grow on palm trees.

• The capitol is Honolulu.
• The knickname is Aloha State.
• Hawaii is made up of eight islands.
• Under-sea volcanoes that erupted thousands of
  years ago formed the islands of Hawaii.

• Yellow Hibiscus is the State Flower.
• These exotic flowers grow on a shrub with dark
  green leaves.
• Hibiscus grow in hot, sunny places.

• This display was created by Mrs. Earleys and
  Mrs. Kemps Kindergarten Class.
• The students enjoyed learning many exciting facts
  about the Aloha State.
• Many students would like to visit this tropical
  paradise.

• TheLei is a symbol of Hawaii, and dates back to
  the ancient Hawaiians.
• A lei can be made up of flowers, leaves, shells,
  feather, and bones.
• A lei is carefully made by hand, and is given as
  gifts of love.

• Hula dancing tells the history of Hawaii.
• Hula dancing is said to be the heartbeat of the
  Hawaiian people.
• Many tourists come to Hawaii to see Hawaiians
  perform the Hula.
