What It Was, What It Is What It Shall Be!

• In 1992
• Less than 1 Million computers were connected to
  the internet
• Less than 1 of the worlds population had cell
  phones and in the U.S.
• Only 2 used email.
• Today
• Over 1 Billion computers are online
• More than a Billion cell phones are sold each
  year
• By 2010
• There will be 10 devices for every person
  connected to the network!

ADS (Americas Digital Schools) 2006 Survey Says

• At the end of 2006, the internet bandwidth per
  student was 2.90 Kbps (kilobits per second per
  student)
• Schools say they will grow this to 9.57 Kbps per
  student by 2011- a 3 times increase.
• One group predicts that this will grow to as much
  as 40 Kbps in five years.
