• Making a movie in a movie
• Take a long, large animation into small chapters
• Reduces management
• Logical
• Reusable
• Not all visible at the same time

• Repeat Elements?

• Needed interaction?

Animated Graphics

• Create a single animated graphic symbol from
  multiple layers
• Move selected objects into the graphics timeline
  and off the stage
• Much cleaner timeline
• Highly reusable
• NOTE TIMELINE CONFLICTS!!!!

Movie Clip Symbols

• More robust
• Differs by having an INDEPENDENT timeline
• Must have its own actionscript

Creating Graphic Symbols

• Synchronizes because it is on the same global
  timeline
• Select all layers/frames that should be on the
  new graphic
• Cut frames through Edit -gt timeline
• Paste inside new graphic
• Cannot include sound or library objects!

Creating Movie Clips

• Same process as Graphic symbol
• Can use sound and other clips
• Allows for nesting
• Creates a parent/child hierarchy
• Use Movie Explorer to see nesting

Better Animations

• Done with embedding a movie clip on a button
  state
• Requires button and a movie clip in the library
• Uses ACTIONSCRIPT
