Title: THE SUPREMACY OF CHRIST AND
1THE SUPREMACY OF CHRIST AND OUR CONCERN FOR
OTHERS Colossians 42 - 6
2When Jesus Christ is ultimately supreme in our
lives, we will share with him the same concern
for the spiritual well-being of others as he
demonstrated by coming to the world to give up
his life for us.
3PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful
in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray
also for us, that God may open to us a door for
the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on
account of which I am in prison  that I may make
it clear, which is how I ought to speak
- Colossians 42 - 4
4PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and
the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the
prayers
- Acts 242
5PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
to be constant in prayer
- Romans 1212
6PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all
prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert
with all perseverance, making supplication for
all the saints
- Ephesians 618
7PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
pray also for us, that God may open to us a door
for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ,
on account of which I am in prison that I may
make it clear, which is how I ought to speak
- Colossians 43 - 4
8PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
the word of the truth, the gospel, Â which has
come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is
bearing fruit and growingas it also does among
you, since the day you heard it and understood
the grace of God in truth
- Colossians 15 - 6
9PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
that I may make it clear, which is how I ought
to speak
- Colossians 44
10PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
to make the word of God fully known
- Colossians 125
11PRAYER THAT LOOKS BEYOND OURSELVES
you travel across sea and land to make a single
proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you
make him twice as much a child of hell as
yourselves
- Matthew 2315
12CONDUCT THAT IMPACTS THOSE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST
Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best
use of the time. Â Let your speech always be
gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may
know how you ought to answer each person
- Colossians 45 - 6
13CONDUCT THAT IMPACTS THOSE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST
we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that
you may be filled with the knowledge of his will
in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as
to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully
pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work
and increasing in the knowledge of God
- Colossians 19 - 10
14CONDUCT THAT IMPACTS THOSE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST
wisdom will enable us to determine just how, in
given situations, our new way of thinking, out
new set of biblical values, should be put into
effect
- Douglas Moo, The Letters to the
- Colossians and to Philemon, page 326
15CONDUCT THAT IMPACTS THOSE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST
stay engaged with their fellow-citizens and seek
to win them to Christ
- Douglas Moo, The Letters to the
- Colossians and to Philemon, page 326
16CONDUCT THAT IMPACTS THOSE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST
In the long run the reputation of the gospel
depends on the conduct of its devotees. It was
as if the apostle were saying, behave wisely
toward outsiders, always bearing in mind that
though few men read the sacred scrolls, all men
read you
