  in the Lemon Creek area for three years and are
  tired of the overwhelming odor of rotting garbage
  coming from the landfill. Katie Aurthur doesnt
  have enough money to move. She says that she has
  tried to mask the smell but nothing has worked.

  an alarming rate of 30,000 tons a year. The

  Creek area.

What I Learned

• I learned that Juneau produces 30,000 tons of
  garbage every year, that the incinerator is about
  as bad for the environment as the landfill is,
  and that the landfill leaks toxic substances into
  the ground.

Conclusion

• My conclusion is that most people think that the
  incinerator should be fixed and we should not
  build another landfill. Most people dont think
  it is too much to repair the incinerator because
  they think the difference in the size of the
  landfill will be worth it.
