What is Doulos (doó-loss)?

• In Biblical times, the word doulos represented a
  slave who had obtained freedom, yet willingly
  continued to serve his master out of love and
  loyalty.
• The CBC Doulos Ministry will challenge its
  members to become bondservants of Christ through
• Coming up with big ideas for ministries at CBC
• Developing their big idea into a thriving
  ministry
• Ongoing management of their ministry under the
  direction of the Doulos Ministry Program

Why a Doulos Lay Ministry Program?

• We should encourage our members to serve
• We should enable our members to follow a passion
  placed on their heart by the Holy Spirit
• We should make it easy for members to serve in
  areas they have passion
• We need to ensure lay ministries are in line with
  CBCs beliefs and values
• We need to do this without placing additional
  administrative burden on the staff

Doulos Ministry Guidelines

• Each ministry is the responsibility of the member
  to run CBC staff is not expected to run the
  ministry
• The ministry must be compatible with CBC beliefs
  and values
• CBC cannot fund individual Doulos ministries
• The ministry cannot ask for cash donations from
  members. Requests are limited to volunteer help
  and hard good donations.
