What is Community Service?

• Community service is volunteering to help in ones
  community.
• Their many different ways to do community
  service.
• This semester I particapted in Relay for Life and
  cleaning up Brown Hall.

Community Service

• I have done community service since elementary
  school.
• I do community service because I love knowing
  that I am helping someone and making a
  difference.
• Community service makes the community a better
  place for everyone.

Relay for Life

• Relay for Life is an event that raises money and
  awareness about cancer.
• It is an all night event that has teams walk
  around a track.

Why I did Relay for Life

• I participated in Relay for Life because many of
  my relatives have died of cancer.
• Their needs to be more money to find a cure to
  cancer.

FYE Team

• I was on the FYE Team.
• Our theme was Hang out Cancer to dry.

Preparing

• Before Relay for Life I helped decorate for the
  tent.

Opening Ceremony

• Dr. Schmier made a very inspirational speech
  about surviving cancer

First Lap

• The first lap was walked by survivors of cancer
  and in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
• I walked the first lap in remembrance of my Uncle
  and Grandmother who both died of cancer.

Walking

• I walked around the track with Dr. Schmier.
• I was signed up to walk for the first hour.

Cleaning up Brown

• I helped clean up Brown because I live there and
  I want it to be clean.
• It helped out the cleaning people because over
  the weekend it gets very dirty.

Cleaning

• I cleaned all the windows and mirror around the
  lobby and in the girls bathroom.
• I also took the trash to the dumpster.

Pizza Party

• After we cleaned Brown Hall we got to eat pizza.

Candles

• I lit two candles in remembrance of my family
  members.

Tents

• At Relay for Life their were many things to
  participate in and buy.
• Trey gave me a dollar to get a glow stick
  necklace.

The End

• I plan on participating in Relay for Life next
  year.
• It was really fun and for a great cause.
