The Region of Brazil
  • The federation of Brazil consists of 26 state,
    and one federal district
  • It is important to understand the terrains of
    the region.
  • Northern Brazil is covered in the Amazon
    rainforest
  • Southern Brazil has an open region covered in
    hills and low mountains

North Region North-east region Central-West
Region South-East region Southern region
3
Impacts
  • According to the intergovernmental Panel on
climate change has revealed that the Amazon
region in northern Brazil has experienced
directional trends in drought and heavy rainfall
that exhibit and weak positive trend
  • They have also proven that precipitation in
subtropical regions like Brazil have experienced
an abrupt increase in precipitation from
    1956-1990, following a dry period from 1921-1955.

Positive Impacts
  • Brazil Economy is one of the few on earth that
will benefit more from the affects of Global
    Warming.
  • By increasing the rain cycle through ENSO
oscillations and the effects of La Nina droughts,
    Brazils Agriculture Industry can increase
    production. The agriculture industry is
responsible for employing 30- 40 of the
    economically active population

Negative Impacts
  • Some Aqua culture fisheries and mangroves may
lose profits and product because of the sea level
    rise
  • The Amazon rainforest is rich in biodiversity and
a change in climate will lead to dramatic changes
in the ecosystem, with no time to adapt to the
    changes the species will perish
  • Evidence is established but incomplete that
climate change would reduce silvicultural yields
because water often limits growth during the dry
season, which is expected to become longer and
more intense in many parts of Latin America.

Negative Impacts Cont
  • The continual glacial ice melt is dangerous and
has adverse impacts on the people nearby
  • The lack of snow in the region mountains causes a
decrease in countries dependence on winter sport
    tourism.
  • The Brazilians depend on this snow and glacial
ice also to control river and stream flow,
availability for irrigation and for the use of
    hydro power generation.

7
Conclusion
  • The Brazilian Economy may slightly benefit from
Global Warming, but the countries losses are to
    great to be ignored.
  • The biodiversity richness is an important
    attribute that helps entail Brazil.
  • The very important facets of the peoples culture
and the regions history may be erased and
forgotten if something is not done about the
recent anthropogenic changes felt by the planet
