Introduction
  • Teen crime was the topic that our group picked
because it had different verity of topics to
choose from and it sees how teens react to the
culture around them. The topic also shows how
teens are deprived from human potential. Our
group picked four different topics that help
explain teen violence, and those topic, are
gangs, school violence, how teens became involved
in crime, and juvenile crime statistics. Each
topic explains how teens got involved, what the
teens did, and why teens did what they did.

Crime Prevention Plan
  • In youth crime there is one time of day that it
spikes. This time is right after school. This is
when robbery, violent crime, murder, and property
crime can be prevented. It has been proven that
if there are activities after school, it reduces
the total youth crime in many cities. From the
Fight Crime Invest in Kids Reports there are
four easy steps that can be taken to prevent
    youth crime.
  • Assure all school-age children and teens access
to after-school, weekend and summer youth
development programs to shut down the Prime Time
    for Juvenile Crime

17
  • Assure all families access to the school
readiness child care programs proven to
    dramatically reduce crime.
  • Help schools identify troubled and disruptive
children at an early age, and provide children
and their parents with the counseling and
training that can help kids get back on track.

18
  • Improve deficient parenting and prevent child
abuse and neglect by a) Offering high-risk
parents in home parenting-coaching and b) making
sure child protective, foster care and adoption
services have polices and enough well trained
staff to protect and heal abused and neglected
    children.
  • The bottom line is that if we do not invest in
our kids at a young age we will pay for it later.
This is not only in dollar value but with lives
    also.
