Bio Diesel Use

• Bio Diesel use decreases the carbon emissions put
  into the atmosphere and is healthier for staff
  that works with the equipment
• Bio Diesel used since 2005
• B99 used in Summer, B20 in
• Winter
• Used in all diesel equipment
• Park equipment that uses bio diesel includes
• Tractors
• Backhoe
• Lawn mowers

Green Cleaners and Product Metering

• Cleaners are phosphorus free and have low or no
  VOCs
• Cleaners are metered so there is no waste from
  improper mixing
• Cleaners are safe for the environment as well as
  the staff and visitors

Geothermal Heating and Cooling

• Tawas Point Lighthouse uses Geothermal technology
  for heating and air conditioning.
• Geothermal systems use the constant temperature
  of the earth to more efficiently heat and cool a
  structure.

Energy Efficient Lighting and Occupancy Sensors

• All Park building use energy efficient compact
  fluorescent bulbs
• Visitor Restrooms and staff offices have
  occupancy sensor so lights are not on when no one
  is in the room

Staff Bicycle Use

• Staff use bikes instead of vehicles as much as
  possible to perform routine maintenance tasks and
  campground administrative duties
