Prepositions rarely work alone. They are almost
always found with nouns or pronouns, forming a
group of words called a prepositional phrase.
For Example
Dad is in the garage.
in is the preposition
in the garage is the prepositional phrase
Prepositional phrases give added information
about nouns and verbs.

outside the principals office. Dirt smeared both
of their faces, and they could hear their
teachers voice as she gave Mr. Jones her account
of what had happened. Tommy sneered at John, and
John returned the angry glare. As Miss Brown left
Mr. Jones office, the boys hung their heads so
they wouldnt have to look her in the eye.

happen is that you wont jump very far. At the
worst you may trip and fall the way Harry
did. And that would be embarrassing with
