3Introduction
- Tempo 1019 is a strategic requirement aimed at
enhancing Directories processes across all WLR3
products - Analogue, ISDN2 and ISDN30 - Remote Call Forwarding (RCF) and Caller Redirect
(CR) are also incorporated in the overall
Directory solution - The overall requirement has been categorized into
following areas - Core and Additional-Core Directory Entries
- Special Phone Book Entries
- Dialogue Services
- Miscellaneous phone book ordering, complaints
management etc
4Introduction (cont.)
- The functionalities offered through Tempo 1019
will be available only to CPs on (or above) the
EMP Release in which the requirements are
delivered - There will be no change to the ordering process
for CPs on earlier EMP Releases
5Core and Additional-Core Directory Entry
6Current Process
- CPs can submit basic directory information for
Core Directory entry through EMP. Example- End
User Name or Business Name, Directory Location
and Directory Entry Type etc - CPs can submit complex directory indicators for
Core Directory entry through EMP. Example- Group
listing indicator, partial address indicator etc
7Overview of new functionality
- Submit complex directory information upfront on
EMP group listings, partial addresses etc - Provision Directory Entry for individual DDIs (or
any number on an ISDN installation) via EMP - Request for Additional-Core directory entries on
WLR3 via EMP - Amend directory information on an open Provide
order type until PONR
8Overview of new functionality (cont.)
- Retain existing Core and Additional-Core
Directory entries on all telephone numbers on an
installation during Line Transfers from
WLR3/WLR2/BTRC to WLR3 - Retain existing Core and Additional-Core
Directory entries during Line Provision with
Number Import - Get a confirmation on fulfilment / retention of
directory entry on OSIS
9Key ordering scenarios
- Simultaneous ordering to allow provision of Core
Directory Entry along with WLR3 Provide order
type - Stand-alone Directory order to allow provision /
modification of Core and Additional-Core
Directory Entry - Transfer order / Number Import to allow retention
of Core and Additional-Core Directory Entries

11Scenario 1 (Simultaneous ordering) - Key
Principles
- CPs will be able to request Core Directory Entry
on WLR3 Provide order type for the Main number /
Call Sign number in Analogue and MBNs in ISDN - For all scenarios where an RCF or CR installation
can be provisioned, CPs will be able to supply
Core Directory entry on the order itself - CPs will be able to provide directory elements
for both Single and Group formatted entries - CPs will be able to supply partial address and
non-installation address details on the line
provision order
12Scenario 1 (Simultaneous ordering) - Key
Principles
- An open Manage-Directory-Provide order will not
restrict CPs ability to submit Fault and Order
types - CPs will not be able to amend or cancel the
Manage-Directory-Provide order - KCI Dir Info will provide EMP order references
of all Manage-Directory-Provide orders raised
against the Provide order type - KCI Dir Success will provide full detail of
provisioned entry and LONI ID - KCI Dir Reject will provide an appropriate
error code. A rejection will not impact the WLR3
order that has already been completed. - Note For Number Imports, directory entries can
be provisioned only if the losing network
operator exports/ceases any existing directory
entries against the number on OSIS

14Scenario 2 (Stand-alone ordering) - Key Principles
- CPs will be able to request for stand-alone
Provision of Core and Additional-Core directories
on any telephone number (including individual
DDIs) belonging to an active WLR3 installation
owned by the CP - CPs will be able to submit one Directory entry
for one telephone number per stand-alone EMP
order. This could either be for Single-formatted
or Group-formatted entry - Example If CP wants to set-up a Group listing
with 5 numbers, then CP will submit 5 separate
orders requesting for Group listing on each - CPs will be able to submit more than one
stand-alone Directory order for the same number
at the same time - Customer Required Date (CRD) will not be accepted
for such orders and the order will be fulfilled
as soon as possible upon receipt
15Scenario 2 (Stand-alone ordering) - Key Principles
- CPs will be able to use the stand-alone order to
modify or cease an existing Core /
Additional-Core directory entry - CPs will need to quote the LONI ID of the
directory entry which needs modification or
cessation - It will not be possible to modify the telephone
number on a directory entry - An open stand-alone order will not restrict CPs
ability to submit Fault and Order types - CPs will not be able to amend or cancel the
stand-alone Directories order
16Scenario 3 (Retention) - Key Principles
- Tempo 1019 will enhance the overall directory
retention process for Analogue, ISDN2, ISDN30,
RCF and CR - Directory retention will be supported during
- Line Transfers
- Number Imports
- Order management process will be same as that for
scenario 1.
17Scenario 3 (Retention) - Key Principles
- Retention during Transfer
- CPs will be able to retain existing Core and
Additional-Core Directory entries on all
telephone numbers on an installation during Line
Transfers from WLR3/WLR2/BTRC to WLR3 - Supported only as long as numbering configuration
does not change - Retain Core and Additional-Core Directory Entry
flag to be available on the order xml - CPs will not be able to use this functionality
for other Provision order scenarios, i.e. Change
of Address, Conversion, Working Line Takeover,
New Provide, Start of a Stopped line, Increase of
aux lines etc
18Scenario 3 (Retention) - Key Principles
- Retention during Number Import
- For WLR3 Provide order types where CPs can Import
number(s) from other network operators to BT, CPs
will be offered a functionality to retain
directory listings for the number(s) being
imported - CPs will be able to use the Retain Core and
Additional-Core Directory Entry during Number
Import flag for retention of directory entries - CPs will be able to retain directory listings for
either all of the numbers being imported through
the order or none of them - Successful retention of Directory entries will be
subject to a successful export of all directory
listings by the losing network provider on OSIS
19Dialogue Services Part A
20Current Process
- Obtain Installation Details (OID) Dialogue
Service currently returns the following
information to CPs with respect to Directory
entries - Configuration Details of Single-formatted Core
Directory Entry - Indication of Group-formatted Core Directory Entry
21Overview of new functionality
- A new Directory Dialogue Service will be
introduced on EMP through which CPs will be able
to retrieve details of Core, Additional-Core and
Special Phone Book Entries as present in OSIS for
any geographic number - CPs will be able to use the Dialogue Service to
query information for lines belonging to any
network provider - As OSIS data is refreshed on a daily-batch basis
rather than real-time updates, the new Dialogue
Service will return information from the most
recent available daily refresh
22Overview of new functionality (cont.)
- The existing directory elements in OID Dialogue
Service will be removed for CPs on the EMP
Release in which these requirements are delivered - There will be no changes to OID Dialogue Service
for earlier EMP Releases
23Key features of Directory Dialogue Service
- Gather information on Directory products active
on a telephone number - Search by Telephone number and/or additional
parameters - Retrieve complete configuration details of a
Group-formatted entry - Search by Group Header ID
- Ascertain the DQ code for a geographic area
- Search by Post Code to get the DQ code
- Look for a person/business entitys directory
entries in a DQ area - Search by Name and DQ code to get a list of Core
and Additional-Core directory entry details - Note More features, specific to Special Phone
Book Entries, are covered in Section B of
Dialogue Services.
24Special Phone Book Entry
25Current Process
- CPs contact BT Directories to set-up Special
Phone Book Entries. This process is external to
EMP.
26Overview of new functionality
- Order Standard Special Phone Book Entries through
EMP - Retain existing Standard Special Phone Book
Entries on all telephone numbers on an
installation during Line Transfers from
WLR3/WLR2/BTRC to WLR3 - Retain existing Standard Special Phone Book
Entries during WLR3 Provide order types with
Number Import - Get a confirmation on fulfilment / retention of
directory entry on OSIS - Get charged for Standard Special Phone Book Entry
products on the WLR3 bill. This is applicable
only for orders provisioned through EMP. - Note Above principles are applicable only when a
separate contract between CP and BT Directories
is in place.
27Key ordering scenarios
- Stand-alone Directory order type to allow
provision / modification of Standard Special
Phone Book Entry - Transfer order / Number Import to allow retention
of Standard Special Phone Book Entries

29Scenario 1 (Stand-alone ordering) - Key Principles
- CPs will be able to request for stand-alone
Provision of Standard Special Phone Book Entries
on any telephone number (including individual
DDIs) belonging to an active WLR3 installation
owned by the CP - WLR3 CP would require a separate contract with BT
Directories before submitting a valid SPBE order
via EMP. This will make the WLR3 CP pre-approved
for ordering SPBE products. Where the contract is
not in place, the SPBE order will be rejected - Openreach will accept Standard SPBE provision
request from CPs and submit an order, on behalf
of the CP, to BT Directories for fulfilment - On successful completion of the SPBE order, EMP
would trigger SPBE charging on the CPs WLR3 bill
30Scenario 1 (Stand-alone ordering) - Key Principles
- Ordering for Special Phone Book Entry for a
number will not be related to Core or
Additional-Core Directory Entry. Thus, CPs will
need to supply explicit details of SPBE that
needs to be provisioned - In case BTD requires further details for
progression of the SPBE order, EMP will trigger a
KCI Query to the CP requesting for clarification - CP should supply requested details through an
Amend request on top of the open SPBE order. The
Amend request will contain all the fields as
present in the Directories order. CP will have to
supply all the directory elements again
31Scenario 1 (Stand-alone ordering) - Key Principles
- If the CP does not come back with Amend request
within a pre-defined period of time, the order
will be auto-cancelled by EMP and KCI
cancellation response sent to the CP - CPs will not be allowed to submit an Amend
request to an open order unless EMP has
specifically requested the CP for an Amend - CPs will be able to cancel the order at any point
between the receipt of KCI 1 and KCI 2. However,
the cancellation request will be subject to the
status of the order provision at BT Directories
32Scenario 1 (Stand-alone ordering) - Key Principles
- CPs will be able to use the stand-alone order to
modify or cease an existing Standard Special
Phone Book Entry - CPs will need to quote the LONI ID of the
directory entry which needs modification or
cessation - It will not be possible to modify the telephone
number or the SPBE product on an entry - An open stand-alone order will not restrict CPs
ability to submit Fault and Order types
33Scenario 2 (Retention) - Key Principles
- CPs would be able to retain Standard Special
Phone Book Entries during - Line Transfer from WLR2/WLR3/BTRC to WLR3
- Number Import from another network provider to BT
- Only pre-approved CPs would be able to request
for retention of Standard SPBEs - Order management process will be same as that for
Core/Additional-Core entries - On successful retention of SPBEs, EMP would
trigger SPBE charging on the CPs WLR3 bill - Note The Transfer/ Number Import order (or any
other order through EMP) would not have any
impact on Managed SPBEs existing against a number
in OSIS
34Scenario 2 (Retention) - Key Principles
- Retention during Transfer
- Supported only as long as numbering configuration
does not change - Retain Standard SPBE flag to be available on
the xml - CPs will not be able to use this functionality
for other Provision order scenarios, i.e. Change
of Address, Conversion, Working Line Takeover,
New Provide, Start of a Stopped line, Increase of
aux lines etc - Retention during Number Import
- Retain Standard SPBE during Number Import flag
to be available on xml - CPs will be able to retain directory listings for
either all of the numbers being imported through
the order or none of them - Successful retention of Directory entries will be
subject to a successful export of all directory
listings by the losing network provider on OSIS
35Dialogue Services Part B
36Key features of Directory Dialogue Service
- In addition to the features discussed in
Dialogue Services section A, the following SPBE
specific features would as well be offered
through the Directory Dialogue Service - Ascertain the PB code for a geographic area
- Search by Post Code to get the PB code
- Look for a person/business entitys SPBEs in a PB
area - Search by Name and PB code to get Special Phone
Book Entry details
37Miscellaneous
38Overview
- CPs will be able to order copies of BT Phone Book
through EMP and get charged on the WLR3 bill - CPs will be able to request for a consolidated
audit report of the Directory products configured
on their WLR3 lines
