- I recently moved to the Big City from Roberts
Creek on the Sunshine Coast. Ive lived in the
city before but a sense of place is important to
me and at some point, the Creek became home to
me, despite my initial resistance!
3Lately, I have been thinking about how blessed
Ive been to enjoy the best of both worlds over
the past few years . . .
pleasure in solitude, surrounded by breathtaking
beauty, and the ever present rhythm of the waves.
nights out on the town, theatre, concerts,
ceaseless activity, the hum of a vibrant city.
4Theres definitely some duality in my life. My
friends fall into two categories
- City girls
- live in North Vancouver
- all SFU graduates
- Country girls
- all lived in Roberts Creek
- all rode the yellow school bus in high school

8The ferry becomes a big part of your life
sometimes
Ferry line-ups and..
This is a picture taken on the top deck of the
ferry one evening. Occasionally, the captain will
make an announcement if a pod of whales is seen
and everyone will run onto the deck. I havent
seen any whales yet!

program for children with special needs in
Roberts Creek. I love helping her out when Im
home.

Bay.
15Everyone has a dog! Here is the most important
member of our household!
Kess came from the SPCA, she was brought in at 5
months of age when her owners realized she was
not a purebred Labrador! She weighs over 100
hundred pounds and despite appearances, she is
very active.

16As much as I love the Coast I am really excited
about moving to the city!
