Educational Component
Standard Care Infant Care Au Pairs must
complete 6 units in an accredited post secondary
institution Family contributes time and up to 50

Taxes

Au Pair must have a social security card in
order for you to her deduct wages from your taxes
Au Pair does not pay social security taxes Au

Sole responsibility of Au Pair to file taxes

Insurance
AVI Accidental Travel Health Insurance
Call 800 number on Au Pair ID card before seeing
a Doctor. Obtain list of local providers.
No co-pay, no deductible. Must file a claim to
be reimbursed. See handbook or website for claim
forms. Does not cover pre-existing conditions or
routine dental Will not cover accidents if Au P
air is driver without car insurance.
If au pair is to drive, must have minimum of
10,000 car insurance coverage paid by the host
family. Au Pair Not liable for more than 250.00
deductible

Renewal

Visa can be renewed for 6, 9, or 12 months

Going Home

Au Pair can travel the 13th month after
completion of contract. See DS form for program
begin and end dates Health insurance is not prov
ided but au pair can purchase Au Pair decides in
the 9th month future travel or extension
plans. One Way ticket and security deposit will
be mailed to home in the 12th month
