Independent Assessment Committee (IAC)

• The IAC will be characterized as an advisory body
  under article 5 of the GAVI Alliance By-laws
• The IACs specific responsibilities include
• Oversight and approval of the process for
  developing the specifications for AMC
  pneumo-vaccines
• Review and approve eligible vaccines based on
  applications from suppliers
• Monitor and report on progress relating to the
  AMC programme

• Delegate authority to the new GAVI Alliance
  Executive Committee to
• Review and approve the AMC agreements for
  execution by the GAVI CEO, acting on the advice
  of Legal Counsel
• Approve the applicable budget for the UNICEF AMC
  procurement MOU covering UNICEFs procurement
  agency services for the AMC
• Confirm the appointment of Independent Assessment
  Committee (IAC) members and recognise the IAC as
  an official GAVI Alliance advisory body
