Explanation of Glossary
  • Key Elements and Explanation
  • ACS Automated Budget Compilation System, ABCS is
    the source of RPOW Data
  • ALC Air Logistic Centers (previously explained)
  • AMC Acquisition Method Code/Acquisition Method
Suffix Code, An Alpha Numeric Code describing
the Acquisition Method used to buy the items
    (competitive or non-competitive)

11
Explanation of Glossary
  • Contractor (Ktr) code Commercial and Government
Entity Code (CAGE Code) Is a 5 Character code
assigned by Battle Creek (DLA) to all
establishments that are manufacturers or have
design control of items of supply procured by the
    Federal Government.
  • ERRC Expendability, recoverability, repairability
category. This will be either N or P for
consumables C or T for recoverable.

12
Explanation of Glossary
  • FSC Federal Stock Class a 4 position field. You
may use wild cards i.e. 28 to obtain data on all
engines or you may obtain data for all jet
aircraft engines by using the 2840 FSC.
  • NIIN - National Item Identification number. Is a
nine digit code i.e. an NSN (explained below)
minus the first 4 numbers (FSC)
  • NSN - National Stock Number, composed of FSC (4
digits) and NIIN (9 digits) A wildcard () can
be used in a query to obtain data for either or
    both FSC and NIIN.

13
Explanation of Glossary
  • SMC- System Management Code- Four-Digit code that
identifies the application or weapon system with
    which the part is assoc.
  • SoR Source of Repair The Logistic Center
where the repair actually takes place.
  • Requirements by Fiscal Year Quantity and Cost
    Breakout by each FY
  • Spares Cost and Quantity for 3 Years
  • Repair Cost and Quantity for 4 Years

Explanation of Glossary

AMSC
DESCRIPTION
A The Governments right to use the data is
questionable B Must be bought from source(s)
specified on a source control drawing C Part
requires engineering source approval by the
design control activity D Data is not physically
available G The Government has the rights to the
data package and it is complete. (This is the
only AMSC that implies full and open competition)
16
Explanation of Glossary
AMSC
DESCRIPTION
H The Government does not have sufficient,
accurate, or legible data K Part must be
produced from Class 1 Castings L Annual buy value
falls below the screening threshold for
competitive buys M Master tooling is required to
manufacture N Special test/inspection
equipment/facilities are required

to exceed savings V High reliability part Y The
design of the item has been determined
unstable Z Commercial, non-developmental,
off-the-shelf type item
19
AMC/AMSC Targets
  • Restricted
  • C Codes Best Candidates for SARs
  • Require Engineering Approval
  • Data Usually Available
  • May Include Specific Qualification Requirements
beyond the Source Approval Information Booklet

20
Manipulation of Data
  • RPOW Spares Data Query
  • Select the Source of Supply
  • What Stock Class are You Interested in
  • Example
  • Your Source of Supply is OC and you wish to see
all requirements in the FSC of 2840. Input the
info and Select-Find Data. This will pull all
Requirements for the current year plus two at
that Source of Supply for that FSC.

21
Manipulation of Data
  • Hints You may request data by a part number
however, best to request by NSN
  • For multiple NSNs and PNs best to download data
into an Access file per instructions on Website.
  • Queries by contractor code may be beneficial for
    partnering efforts

22
Contractor Participation
  • Time allowed for each contractor to run query
  • Instruction on query problems that may arise
  • Time allowed will be approximately 20 minutes for
    each contractor
