Title: American Revolution In New Jersey
1American Revolution In New Jersey
2 The state of New Jersey was not what it is
today. In the late 1700s, New Jersey was one of
the thirteen British colonies discovered by the
British settlers. The first settlements were made
by the Dutch. In 1775-1785, New Jersey was a
main place for major battles and skirmishes that
historical homes, battlefields, sites, and
historical monuments bear testament to today. New
Jersey is called the crossroads of the American
Revolution.

from the Colonial Convention. Washington took
charge of the newly formed continental army. The
next day the Virginians began the difficult task
of transporting the assembled ragtag military
parts into a really good 18 century military of

the continental military. Washington moved to
Manhattan and after that up to the Croton river.

run by Robert Magaw after he refused to surrender
