Reading Ideas - Elementary
  • Students may be attacking unknown words using
    three different techniques

    already, or their prior knowledge.)
  • Structure (Does it sound right using standard
    English?)
  • Visual (Phonics - Letters or letter patterns)
  • Comprehension Reading is thinking. Students
    must internalize what is being read.
  • Have them retell the story or make predictions.
