- Curriculum developed by SS and LA teachers
Based on SS curriculum - Writing Coach-Argumentative writing and
conventions - Test Smart- Vocabulary and conventions
4Reading
- Use novels from new textbook adoption
- The Misfits 6th grade to integrate with
guidance topic - Encouraged reading selections that integrate
grade level curriculum areas - ex. The Devils Arithmetic 6th grade SS
5Walking/Wellness Classes
- Assist schools in meeting the requirements of the
Healthy and Active Kids legislation - (150 minutes per week)
- Encouraged the use of pedometers for documenting
activity
6Computer Classes
- For eighth grade students
- Provide instruction for all students before
testing window - Provide remediation between first and second
testing
7Flexibility for Special Topics
- Battle of the Books
- 8th Grade Research Project

- Guidance materials purchased from grant from
local 4-H/ East Point - Character Education and Drug Education classes
